Architected a design system evolution for Meta's AI Business Assistant and enabled a unified brand and AI experience across Meta.

Meta AI business assistant helps advertisers by providing personalized campaign recommendations based on insights unique to Meta through a seamless chat experience on Ads Manager.

Part 1 — Alpha -> Beta

1.0.01

Moving beyond a basic AI chat bot, Meta AI Business Assistant needed to be contextually aware & accurate to prove valuable. This required us to actively test features, interactions and responses with users and internally on a consistent basis.

1.0.02

There's a lot of things an AI chat CAN'T do, so seamless transfers to a live support agent was necessary for maintaining user satisfaction.

1.0.03

Ensuring the discoverability of new features on a crowded surface required deliberate use case identification that could compliment the AI's unique capabilities.

BEYOND A CHAT EXPERIENCE — Contextual entry-points introduced users to Meta AI's capabilities as well as increased adoption

Using existing chat components allowed for a fast Alpha launch, but left the experience lacking AI native functionality & a visual disconnect from the rest of Meta's advertising platforms.

2.0.02

Meta AI Business Assistant got a major overhaul in preparation for its Beta release. Including an:

1) Updated design system

2) Branding refresh

3) Pattern innovations focused on AI
